Good morning! With the Herons on international duty and two games left in the season, let’s take a look at Inter Miami’s golden boot race.

Leonardo Campana leads the way, but Josef Martinez could catch up before the year ends.

1) 🏆 Race For The Golden Boot

Inter Miami’s race for the Golden Boot is coming to end.

With just two games left in the MLS regular season, Leo Campana is currently Miami’s highest scorer, sitting on nine goals. Martinez follows shortly after that, with seven.

Campana has been out with an injury during Miami’s last two matches, with the young forward working towards full fitness. Should he not recover in time, it’s probable that Martinez could beat him to the coveted Golden Boot if he manages to score in these last two games.

  • Campana and Martinez have shared time at striker this year.

  • Many fans prefer the Ecuadorian, seeing as though he gels better with Messi in the attacking third.

  • Martinez could overtake the top spot if he scores three goals in Miami’s last games.

Our take: The Golden Boot race could come down to the last two games. If Campana isn’t fit in time, Martinez could nab the award from him.

2) 📅 MLS Off-season Calendar

Yesterday, MLS announced key dates for roster building process for the upcoming off season.

With Miami missing the playoffs, they’ll want to revamp their roster. These dates give MLS teams a chance to re-tool their roster ahead of the 2024 season.

Important dates for Inter Miami fans to remember:

  • December 1st - Club deadline to exercise or decline options.

  • December 11th - Trade window opens.

  • December 13th - Free agency opens.

  • December 19th - Super draft.

Our take: Miami will look to revamp their roster after a difficult end to the 2023. These dates will allow the club’s front office to acquire players that can help them achieve their goals.
