Good morning. Miami’s off-season has begun, as the Herons get set to head to China in a few weeks.

1) 🏆 Messi Set To Win Eighth Ballon d'Or

According to several rumors, Messi looks set to win his eighth Ballon d’Or. The Argentine would be the first player in MLS to win the award while playing in the league.

If these rumors come to fruition, then it would be Messi’s eighth time winning the award, making him the player with the most Ballon d’Or awards of all time.

The award ceremony is set to take place on October 30th in Paris.

  • Messi winning the award would be great for Inter Miami.

  • The Argentine, his family, and allegedly owners from Inter Miami will fly to Paris to watch Messi win the award.

  • This flight to Paris comes days before Miami heads to China.

Our take: Messi winning the award would be great for Miami and the league. Should it happen, it will be a celebratory moment for the Herons.

2) 🇨🇳 Miami Head to China

Miami are preparing to head to China as a part of their pre-season, postseason friendlies against Qingdao Hainiu FC and Chengdu Rongcheng.

The trip comes a week after Miami ended the season with a loss away at Charlotte FC.

  • The trip to China will be a good experience.

  • After the tour, Miami will have a month off to recover for the next season.

  • The MLS playoffs start this Wednesday with the wildcard rounds.

Our take: Miami’s trip to China will be fun. Hopefully, the fans over there get their money’s worth.
