1) ⚽ It’s Game Week, South Florida

After nearly a week and a half off, Inter Miami will play the first of their final two regular-season games at home against Charlotte FC.

Miami will need to muster up the motivation to go out and win, seeing as though the team missed the playoffs this year. Unfortunately, because the Herons missed the post-season, the likelihood of Messi playing in both these games is slim. But, knowing the Argentine’s spirit of competitiveness, he may push to be involved in those games anyway.

  • Miami arent in the playoffs, but they still have pride to play for.

  • Messi may or may not play in these matches, but the media will be speaking with Tata Martino this week to receive clarity.

  • Charlotte is still in the hunt for the playoffs, Miami can play spoiler if they manage to beat them on Wednesday.

Our take: It’s tough not being in the playoffs, but if the rumors about 2024 are an indication, Miami fans should be anticipating what’s to come next year.

2) 🔵🔴 A Barcelona Family Affair?

According to a report from SPORT, Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto has agreed to leave the club next summer.

Roberto has been relegated to the bench for Barca this year and is looking to leave the club in search of more playing time.

Could Inter Miami be his next stop?

It would make sense in a lot of ways.

Miami should freshen up its midfield and incorporate a veteran player who can bring valuable experience to a group of young players like Benjamin Cremaschi, David Ruiz, and Lawson Sunderland, and gel well with Sergio Busquets.

Additionally, Roberto can fill in as a right-back and might give DeAndre Yedlin a run for his money in securing the starting position, depending on Tata Martino's tactics next year.

  • Roberto can play in multiple positions, mainly right-back and central midfield.

  • With Miami in several competitions next year, depth will be needed.

  • However, some fans might become cynical and believe Miami would only sign Roberto because he used to play for Barcelona.

Our take: Sergi Roberto could be a pleasant addition to Inter Miami’s squad depending on his salary range. He can play in multiple positions and has a good relationship with Messi, Alba, and Busquets.
